Unlike the grand panoramic views typically found in most palaces worldwide, this course offers an intimate experience. Traverse small ponds and pavilions, meandering up and down hills, immersing yourself in the royal resting places.
From Buyongji, which served an academic purpose, to Yeongyeongdang, used as a reception hall, vividly experience various stories that unfolded within the palatial grounds of the Joseon Dynasty. Explore and enjoy the serene beauty of the royal retreat.

Seoul Museum of Korean Folk Music 🎵
Seoul Our Sounds Museum is dedicated to preserving Korean folk songs and serves as a museum centered around our unique sounds. In the past, the melodies of our voices could be heard anywhere at any time, but now, this museum gathers and offers a space to listen to the disappearing sounds of our nation.
The building itself is a serene hanok, adding to the special atmosphere as you appreciate our folk songs in a unique exhibition space.
Admission is free for everyone, except on closing days!
Among them, I recommend visiting two particular places
The 1st-floor audio listening room, called '누마루,' is part of the museum. Isn't the interior reminiscent of a traditional tea house? Here at Numaroo, you can directly experience and appreciate regional folk songs representing various regions of South Korea.
2) The Permanent Exhibition Gallery
In the underground 1st-floor permanent exhibition, you can listen to our sounds corresponding to various situations. From labor songs sung during farming or hunting to funeral songs filled with sorrow, you can explore a variety of themed sounds including storytelling songs and traditional lullabies that our parents used to sing to us when we were young.
Donhwamun Traditional Theater 🎵
Shall we now take a stroll along with another aspect of our music? The next place I'd like to introduce is Seoul Donhwamun Traditional Theater.
Seoul Donhwamun Traditional Theater is named after Donhwamun, the main gate of Changdeokgung Palace. This venue combines traditional hanok architecture with modern design, featuring an indoor performance hall and an outdoor stage for enjoying traditional Korean music.
At Seoul Donhwamun Traditional Theater, every month, various themed performances featuring traditional Korean instruments and Pansori, traditional Korean narrative singing, are presented. The venue hosts music concerts reminiscent of the Joseon Dynasty's royal court music. In the performance hall, where the audience and the stage are seamlessly integrated, immerse yourself in the unique experience of traditional Korean music, directly interacting with the musicians.
